Lakes Shopping Centre Refurbishment

This design and construct project involved the refurbishment of a 20 year old shopping centre, which included the addition of a 1,400m2 Aldi store, internal upgrades to the amenities, food court and various tenancies, as well as an extensive external refurbishment. This included the construction of two new entry statements, re-cladding and painting of building fascias and awning soffits, new signage boxes and re-paving to all external footpaths.

As the shopping centre continued to trade throughout the construction process, the programming of the works required extensive forward planning, to ensure that safety to the public was the highest priority, while also ensuring that the disruption to existing tenants was minimised throughout the build. This involved the need to work after hours to perform certain tasks, which added to the overall complexity of the project.

This project was finally delivered on time and on budget, which was the result of a great working relationship between our designers, the construction team and the shopping centre managers.
